ohmygod. these women were totally nuts. :) they drove down from illinois and met us in memphis. terry drove a silver NB (named smylz 2) that had apparently met a painful fate with a pole... the back left fender was smashed in. terry plastered a big band-aid sticker that said "ouch!" over the owie and drove to R2K with a giant alien in her back window. every time we spoke with them we ended up laughing our asses off. they were spunky, full of energy, and also were incredibly supportive of our work on the documentary. when lisa & i were considering leaving the caravan from dallas (so we could arrive in roswell early to set up) they both vehemently argued with us to stay with the group. in the end we did, i think in large part due to their protests. :) i also have to quickly mention their creativity at the car show. kathy showed off her 'invisible' NB (icu2) by laying a string of plastic colored flags around the parking space, and terry had built an elaborate costume for her silver NB that made it look like a floating spaceship.
