woo hoo!

does the antenna actually have 2-color stripes or is that just a trick of the light?

If you're referring to the NB antenna, I think its a trick of the light...I have the same antenna, so I should know! :)

Lisa,
I'll never get anything done at work, now that the cam is on! Drive Safely and SYIR on Friday.

Hey, the webcam thing is pretty crafty. Did redhat bring the the zx-m and the 320 lens?

I don't think I'm supposed to be watching the cams at work, but I leave in 18 minutes, so I had to check and see if you got on the road.

Mmmm... enjoy the Mellow Mushroom for me, too... I'm so excited the cams are up! DriverCam is cool. Hello, little alien saucer guy! Hello, Herbie! Hello, Lisa and Dan!

I've found my pre-Roswell excitement, in case you can't tell. :-)

Awesome, Lisa! I have got the cam open and running here at my desk at Autobahn VW keeping track of y'all!

Oh, and how is the progress graph supposed to work? Don't quite know how to read it.

Cool! I'm very excited to see you on the road. I can't wait to see my girl join the caravan.

Posted by: ElectraSteph on June 15, 2004 12:56 PM

I just tuned in. Can't wait to get started. The cam looks great!

Blue Smiley is very excited. He got waxed yesterday and the roof rack was put back on.

My Mom wanted to say Hi also. She is looking forward to joining the caravan.

Talk to you later.

help! thumbnail says cam is live, but all I get in the cam window is the slide show :(

Posted by: Sarah on June 15, 2004 02:25 PM

sarah, good catch... i had the threshold for when the slideshow would start set differently in the cam popup window.... they are both the same now-- 10 min. that means the cam has to stop uploading for 10 min before you will start to see the slideshow again.

Posted by: georg on June 15, 2004 02:59 PM

Lisa, I just went through all my potential "Museum" items.

I have:
-Goody bags from the 2nd R2K (Couldn't find the first; it may be in Lubbock)...Intersting Items: Houston Caravan Magnet and "playbook"
-A Lamesa Newspaper that shows the Houston Caravan driving around the town square, with a short article. I'll try to get photocopies made before the show. Important note: My car is in the picture! :)

I'll also be bringing my VW Scrapbook, which contains misc. memorbilia..You may have some already (VW Driver w/R2K article; Automobile Magazine W/R2K article; Street VWs from Japan; several newspapers.

Final item: the "guestbook" that I've had people sign over the last few years. Don't know if you want anything like that.

I'm Leaving Waco for Lubbock tommorrow morning; I have some more stuff there. SYIR...

PS: The SciFi channel is running a marathon of their UFO shows (documentaries). If you're still stuck at home, check it out....

Lisa, are you using Condoms to cover the cams this year, or do you have a more eloquent waterproofing solution...
:)

Posted by: Cameron on June 15, 2004 04:19 PM

cameron-- i have a much more elegant solution this year-- i have simply sealed all the crevices with electrical tape. it seems to be holding up extremely well.
