it gets a little crazier...

couldn't get hold of mom last night or this morning. met dan as planned at the mellow mushroom in asheville; he somehow managed to park near a vortex nb. (note for future meetings in asheville: the mellow mushroom is really easy to find, the food is fab, as is the outdoor seating in the summer. just meet there, don't mess with trying to find other places to meet.)

lots of discussion over lunch about the cams and everything. looks like dan is going to run the cams in his car during the day and do one big upload at night. tonight i tried to make some adjustments to the web cam pages and scripts to accomodate what i think is likely to happen. we'll see. check the web cam pages at night (like, after a late dinner) and the slideshow page. you might find a little something there.

oh just a note about stephanie-- lest her new co-workers think she's gone off home to just doo-dad around the house for the next week and a half, not so. she got phoebe all buffed, polished and de-cluttered today, and is heading out at o-dark-thirty tomorrow to meet up with the eastern caravan somewhere along the road between memphis and little rock.

anyway, looks like dan or i or both of us with some combination of the equipment we have may run a LIVE web cam at the BUG GLOW! which i think might just make up for losing the caravan cams. i'll have a bunch of cell minutes that i won't have used as planned-- might as well! and he also wants to run a cam during the parade after the car show. so y'all might be seeing lots more cam coverage this year.

when i got back home from asheville this evening i started trying to call my mom every 30 minutes or so. finally got her at 9pm. she'd been unavailable because they were at the visitation-- yes, the funeral is tomorrow, not thursday.

so after extensive discussion with her and then with craig, we decided that craig and i will go up there bright and early tomorrow and should arrive just in time for the funeral. i've booked a flight for thursday and will arrive in roswell on thursday night, a whole day early! which i am actually kinda happy about. and if david doesn't mind (and i doubt he will) i'll get to document what goes on behind the scenes, before everyone really starts to arrive. and, of course, i'll get to pitch in. which i would enjoy.

craig is being really amazing through all of this. he's being supportive guy all the way. i'm not used to having a person to lean on like that, and i probably could do a better job in my role right now, but he's being monumentally patient with me. i really wish he were going... well, maybe next year. heh :)

geez, i better get to sleep.

Glad things are looking a little up for you! Can't wait to see the "Behind the Scenes" coverage. Be sure to take some pictures of Howie when he shows up! :)
